THE MONTH AHEAD
The month will focus on its use as a Dominant Seventh Flat 9 substitute (the most common usage), with a deep dive into what makes the chord tick: its intervallic makeup and symmetry, 2- and 3-octave patterns, 2-1-2 fingerings, and chromatic approaches. Also expect a dip into the diminished scale, which will unlock further intriguing possibilities.
Of course, each session is underpinned by proven learning strategies: spaced repetition, interleaving and variation.
