Many thanks to yourself and Stephen for presenting a truly mindblowing workshop.
Thanks again for pulling this and the guitar lab concept together. It was an awesome day. I used some of the concepts today in a different sort of master class with 20 business executives. I took a guitar into the session and used diminished chords to explain the concept of creative tension in relationships during periods of organisational change. It was also so much fun watching and listening to you and Stephen working so well together.
A fantastic fun way to clear through the thick musical scrubs we encounter, guided by masters in a casual, welcoming, inclusive and inspiring masterclass.
Lucas has put together an amazing series of workshops which has refreshed and inspired me to further explore my relationship with my instrument. After playing in bands for more than 35 years it was great to feel the enthusiasm of my youth rekindled by sitting at the feet of giants. A fantastic series, highly recommended.
Fabulous. The best workshop series I have ever attended. Lucas is an amazing communicator who is able to zone in on any difficulties you may be having and find a way to get the message across. I knew zip about modes, now I use them all the time and have come away with enough compositional tools to keep me exploring for years. Thanks Lucas!
This workshop kicked my butt. My ability to navigate harmony has close to doubled. Material to practice for the next couple of decades…
Great series - inspiring and informative. Excellent advice from some awesome guitarists and teachers.
I feel like I took a lot from these past two weeks, not just in regard to material/playing but the whole philosophy towards practicing creatively and finding new possibilities through reframing our own thought process/approach.
I want to encourage you to keep up the great work in what I would consider a most exciting field - jazz education (including guitar) Your willingness to share with the wider jazz community sets you apart as a “best practice” muso & educator. Sharing ideas is so beneficial. Keep it up. Looking forward to the next time!
EXPECTATIONS EXCEEDED. I didn’t think eight hours would go so quick. Plenty of time to cover materials catering to all levels. Great info, exercises and really enjoyed the chance to play. Highly recommended, exceptional value for money. I’ll certainly return
This is an experience that I will cherish and think about for the rest of my playing life. Both Doug and Lucas highlight the importance of having FUN. Thanks so much.
This guitar lab was excellent and I feel so lucky to have participated. To spend eight hours hearing about the experiences and and learning from one of the best and most versatile guitarists living today was an opportunity I am so glad I didn’t miss! This is something rarely experienced and I learnt a lot, so much to reflect upon and work with in my own playing.
I found the Winter Masters Series to be both educational and informative and Lucas’s engaging personality made me look forward to each week’s session. I would highly recommend the series to any player interested in progressing their guitar playing.
I learnt more in two weeks than the last two years. Thank you.
The guests were not only very knowledgeable and committed to helping other musicians, but, their passion is infectious. The Winter Master Series was highly valuable in developing one’s voice and approach.
Thank you Lucas Michailidis for your vision and leadership.
Great thought, care and enthusiasm by Lucas ensured that each session was jam packed full of great useable information. His insights and creative techniques get deep into the nuts and bolts exposing a vast expansion of the inner workings of the major scale. His genuine love and passion for music shone through in his teaching techniques.
