This does not happen often. 

A rare opportunity to engage first hand with one of Australia‚Äôs foremost guitarists and composers - Doug de Vries. In this all day session, De Vries will cover five figures in jazz guitar history, compare and contrast their legacy and presence in the continuing jazz guitar lexicon.

There'll be a focus on single-line improvisation and the blues element, plus De Vries's approach to arranging and composing for the guitar. Also, discussion about 'hot' and 'cool' aspects of the repertoire and musical expressions. Participants are encouraged to bring their guitars.
